Contributor Information, Guidelines & Shareable Content
Thank you for being a contributor to the Book Direct Network. We are delighted to have you involved as one of our expert community members.
It would help us tremendously if you could send us your preferred topics and content preferences here
Here are some guidelines about how to add content.
Dashboard
When registered as a contributor, you will have your own dashboard. This will give you the ability to add videos, add articles, add events and add your free business listing.
Important – Please make sure you have added a full profile so we have the correct information to attribute to your videos/articles. Use the Edit Profile tab if necessary.
Adding Videos
We see video marketing as the future in short-term rental education. For this reason we are encouraging our contributors to send regular videos which we will showcase to our members.
From your dashboard use the ‘Videos’ tab and ‘Add Video’ button.
Your uploaded videos only need to be short (2-10 minutes) with a clear and succinct tip to help property managers generate more direct bookings.
We do not require exclusivity. You may send us pre-existing material however we ask that this is no more than 18 months old.

- Must relate to direct booking strategies
- Approximate duration of 2-10 minutes
- Landscape format
- Clear audio
All videos will be attributed to presenters with names, bio, website link and link to business listing. This information is automatically displayed from your contributor profile.
We aim to publish everything within a couple of hours but please allow up to 48 hours for your video to be approved and published.
Adding Articles
We fully appreciate that writing content can be time-consuming. However all visitors to The Book Direct Network website will easily be able to navigate to our articles dedicated to direct booking education. This is a fantastic way to stand out.
From your dashboard use the ‘Articles’ tab and ‘Add Article’ button.
You will be permitted two follow links with customised anchor text permitted and all content will be accredited with your name, bio, website and business listing link.
Loose Guidelines
- Must relate to direct booking strategies
- Word Count: 500 words+
- Images to be owned by you
- Must be exclusive to The Book Direct Network and not published elsewhere online

Adding Business Listings
All contributors are invited to advertise their business on our Book Direct Marketplace.
From your dashboard use the ‘Business Listing’ tab and ‘Add Listing’ button.
We aim to publish everything within a couple of hours but please allow up to 48 hours for your listing to be approved and published.
Adding Events
We are giving all Book Direct Network contributors the opportunity to promote their own events on our Events Calendar.
From your dashboard use the Events tab and Add Event button.

Book Direct Network Events
As well as the Book Direct Show (September/October 2021 – TBC) we will be hosting a number of our own online events throughout 2021 and beyond. These will be one-day events comprising of pre-recorded presentations focusing on specific themes (e.g. social media, content, trust, guest experience).
Furthermore we will be delivering several customised events for software providers and their clients.
All contributors will be invited to participate.
Premium Video Training (Coming Soon)
We will begin offering premium training sessions to members in February/March 2021 as part a subscription-based membership. As a contributor to the Book Direct Network, you will be invited to create training sessions for members.
Premium training sessions will be approximately 30 minutes in length. You can choose whether your session will be live or pre-recorded.
The Book Direct Network team will promote your session to members.
You will receive opted-in leads (name and email address) for all attendees.
Free Giveaways / Downloads (Coming Soon)
Do you have something free to offer our members? A free e-book? Free course? Free Trial?
Please send details to Damian at damian@bookdirect.show and we will share this with our members.
Regularity
We’re not asking our contributors to post content to a fixed schedule. We don’t want to burden your busy workloads. However the more you can contribute, the greater exposure you and your business will receive.
All content will be chronologically listed.
Our ideal number of contributions is 2-4 per month.
Every one of our contributors that post 3 or more pieces of original content will be highlighted (with website link) in a monthly newsletter to members.
The one contributor with the most monthly content will receive a single business spotlight (with image and website link) in a monthly newsletter to members.
